Bitchinskin Matcha Body Scrub – Review

I love a good soak in the bath, and one of my new fav products to lather all over me during this relaxing time is the Bitchinskin Matcha Body Scrub – with coconut and peppermint.

One of my favourite things to review is skincare and bath product. So when I found this little lady in a goodie bad from the Bloggers United AU Adelaide Event I put this on the top of the list of things to try!

Bitchinskin has only been around for a few months and I hope they expand their range and get a lot of notice because this scrub is great

Available in Australia and international! So you can have a bitchin’ bath wherever you are world wide!

The Packaging:
Each little bitchin’ scrub is packaged in this slim and sturdy plastic pouch with an industrial strength zip lock closure. However if thats not your thing, go ahead and depot it! I was a little worried that because I keep mine next to the bath it’d go all soggy and gross because of the paper on the outside, however if you look closely you’ll see the paper is like an overlay onto of a reinforced plastic package. So far mine hasn’t fallen apart. WOO!

matcha packagingAll the information is on the sticker, nothing gets lost when you rip the top off to open the package. The info is really easy to read and well set out, the cute images and way its written make it enjoyable to read. I read it when I use it in the bath. I like the colour scheme too. Neat and classic while being fun and fresh. Well done. If the range expanded, I can imagine different colours in place of the green, but in the same muted style, like a pink for a rose scented, purple for lavender, brown for coffee etc. (I’m fully prepared to go into business by the sounds of things!)

The packaging can be a little hard to close when there is product in the way, but its easy to remove. I was worried about the product drying out, but because you need to be damp/wet to use the product, that moisture revives the product anyway. So don’t fret if it dries out.

The Product:
As you can see it is a salt based scrub and its green (matcha is green tea) and quite grainy (perfect for exfoliating). The scent is so wonderfully fresh and pleasant. A lot of the time green tea can be overpowering and sometimes peppermint can smell sickly sweet and almost fake, but this has the most perfect blend of it all.

product

You can see on the package what each ingredient is targeted to do.
Coconut: Re-hydrate and moisturise without blocking pores.
Matcha: Target ache, wrinkles, scars and cellulite.
Peppermint: Soothe tired and achy muscles, and reduces irritation.

How I use it:
I use it on my upper body mainly, because I’m usually in the bath when I use it. However, I have used it to exfoliate my legs before shaving.

I like to soak in the bath for approx 5 minutes, then I dampen down my body (that isn’t submerged) and rub the product all over. Focussing on my chest, abdomen, and arms. Sometimes I’ll add a drop or two of water to the handful of product so it makes it a paste, I find I get less ‘fall out’ when I do that.

When using it on my face, I make it into a paste and gently pat it on. Because the salt is such a course exfoliant I’m careful when using it on my face. However, the salt is perfect for any super dry areas like elbows, knees and heels.

matcha2

I let it sit for the majority of my bath. It begins to melt down almost and I can feel my skin absorbing the goodness! When it comes to removal. I gently rub the product off, exfoliating my body at the same time. Circular motions are perfect. Its surprising how much dead skin is removed. I love it! When it comes to my face, I wipe most of the product off with wet hands, then gently massage the rest into my cheeks, nose, chin and forehead before going to town on my neck and collarbone. Once I’ve finished exfoliating, I rinse off and pat my face dry with a towel and I instantly feel radiant. The peppermint helps calm down any redness that might have occurred.

matcha1

I really do think this helps brighten my complexion. My skin stays smooth for at least two days after using this as an exfoliator. I’ve not had a reaction to it – which is a win in my book!

Mask Of the Month: Neutrogena Hydro Boost week 1 review

First review of the sheet mask! It is a beautiful mix of scary and ugly when wearing it. Keep that in mind.

The lowdown:

  • Price: $19.99 PricelineWoolworths, $15.99 at Chemist Warehouse, $22.00 Coles ($14.00 sale price). Pack contains 5 masks – approx $4.00 per mask.
  • Target/Aim: ‘… to provide long lasting moisture to help skin look hydrated, radiant and glowing’
  • Skin Type: Suited for Dry Skin but aimed at any skin that needs moisture.
  • Smell: The smell is somewhat like cherry medicine scent – like the rest of the Hydro Boost range. It doesn’t linger nor do I find it unpleasant.
  • Texture: Each is a stretchy cloth mask that feels slippery and like gel.
  • Colour: White and the gel is clear.
  • Directions: “To use, remove mask and unfold gently stretching the fabric cloth to cover your entire face, press lightly with finger tips to set in place and relax for 15 minute allowing the essence nourish your skin. Ideal for use at night, once the fabric mask is removed the concentrated formula works beneath the skin to continuously hydrate whilst you sleep.”

What the packaging says:

Use after cleansing, open pack, take out mask and unfold.
Gently stretch the mask leftwards and rightward to cover your entire face.
Press lightly with fingertips to set in place over face. Relax for 15mins and remove mask. Manage remaining maskhydrating essence on face. There is no need to rinse off the essence. Discard the sheet after use. Ideal for use at night.

New Information:

  • Application: When removing the mask from the packaging its really slimy and slippery. But easy to peel apart and put on your face. It is however quite cold, so keep that in mind!
  • Dry Time: Recommended to leave the mask on for 15 minutes, I put mine on and watched a movie.
  • 5 mins in: The gel had warmed up to body temp so its not so cold anymore, but it does feel refreshing.
  • 10 mins in: All good. Although, the strip between the nose and the mouth – so the mask moustache keeps falling down onto my lips, its just annoying that I have to keep pressing it on to my face and re-arranging that little section.
  • Just before removal: The mask still has a heap of gel in it. I don’t want to waste it.
  • Removal process: SUPER EASY! How satisfying. Its only taken three months to get a super easy mask. I peeled it off the squeezed out any remaining gel and rubbed it into my décolletage and neck. I didn’t want to waste the product. I also massaged the gel on my face into my skin.
  • Instant results: Super refreshed! – The gel sits on your face until you rub it in. It slowly sinks in.
  • 10 mins after: No reaction! Skin feels soft, and a little tacky? but not gross or sticky.
  • Next morning: Still smooth and no reaction. I might try sleeping with the mask on..
  • Visible change: Skin looks refreshed. I did this mask at night before bed.

This mask contains 6x more hyaluronic acid (the moisture stuff) than the hydro-boost serum. (which I also own) so I’m pretty keen on getting some supple skin!

DSCN3361

I tried really hard to get a nice photo. This is the best I could do. The mask has enough give that it can fit most face shapes/sizes. There was excess fabric on mine.

DSCN3362

Its almost impossible to get a smooth application, however it doesn’t change the results. One of the things I’ll have to try for next time is making sure it all touches my skin and doesn’t stretch over it. you can see the ‘air bubbles’ around my eye sockets. Annoying.

DSCN3363

Who doesn’t love a bad skin, bad lighting selfie? This is what the skin looks like when the mask is removed. Fresh and juicy. mmmm.

The gel is super easy to massage into the skin. I think I’m really going to enjoy using these masks once a week.

Do you have experience with sheet masks? or know of any other good hydrating products? I’d love to know!

Thank you so much for reading! Don’t forget:

Mother’s Day Gift guide #2

I posted another Mother’s Day gift guide last week, I’m posting another one now because this is a little bit different to the other one. Sometimes we find ourselves in situations where we can’t go buying flashy gifts for the ones we love. Trust me, I’ve been there. Heck I moved there and became the mayor. Its hard when the one you love deserves a diamond and all you can afford is a rock. So this gift guide is going to be about things you can make or get for cheap that will be sure to make your mumma smile.

PLANTS

For the green thumb mum I think this is a really cute idea. You can get a huge range of potted flowers from Bunnings for under $15.00AUD some even for under $5.00! To snazzy it up a bit and add some personal touch, head over to kmart and pick up one of the many flower pots they have – starting from $2.00! A little bit of elbow grease and some dirty hands will give you the end result of a gorgeous gift that will bring colour and happiness to your mum for a very long time! All you need to do is add a cute label, get a ribbon and you’re done! How beautiful!

TEA/COFFEE

Kmart have some great Tea sets out at the moment in the theme of mothers day!
This one here comes with tea, and sugar cookies with the mug, whilst this one is an all encompassed tea set! There are a few different varieties on offer at Kmart so pick one that suits your mum. These ones here are $6 and $10. Bargain!

PHOTOS

I think it costs approx 25c to get a photo printed these days and thats just for standard sizes. One thing that my brother, sister and I do, is get photos of us, and us and our partners and make a photo collage. If thats not quite your style, or you’re an only child then you can just find some photos of you and your mum. You can get some really cute frames for under $10. I’ll leave you with a pic from at least 10 years ago of me and my mum

BAKED GOODS

If you’re good in the kitchen then this one might be for you. This is one of the things I’m doing for my mum this Mother’s Day. Its an edible cupcake arrangement. Click here to find out how to do it! It is actually really easy! It was under $15 to make.

DSCN3360

This one here is just a trial run, so its a little rough around the edges. But you get the idea! The tutorial for this post will be up tonight! Two posts in one day? You guys are lucky!

That just about wraps it up for this instalment of the Mother’s Day gift guide for 2016. Just remember, you don’t need to go out and get expensive gifts. Just spend time with your mum, or mother figure. Cherish the time you have and make memories and take photos and just tell your mum how much you love them!

Be sure to check back in a few hours for the cupcake bouquet tutorial!

Thank you so much for reading, and don’t forget:

Edible Cupcake Bouquet

Welcome back to Caitlan’s Kitchen! One of the things I love doing, is baking! This year for mothers day, along with some other gifts, I plan on making my mum a giant array of cupcakes that look like a flower bouquet. Why? Because why not? Not sure what to get your mum for Mother’s Day? Check out the two gift guides I’ve put together *HERE* and *HERE*.

The one I’m going to teach you how to do now is just my trial run, so its a little rough around the edges. But with some practice, it should look better!

There are a heap of different ways you can go about this, in terms of cakes and decorations. I chose to use packet cakes for this, purely because it’s the easy option. However, feel free to use any cupcake recipe you have and love for this. The same goes for decorating, the marshmallow flowers are just an option. I thought I might show you how to to do them for future baking experiments.

THE THINGS!

DSCN3354

For this you’ll need a few things that don’t come from the baking aisle. A flower pot (kmart have cute ones for $2), ribbon, and a Styrofoam ball. Along with that you’ll need patty pans, tooth picks and some cakes. You can use whatever cupcakes you like I’m using packet cakes as I said, because its easy. I’m using vanilla and chocolate, but thats just for some variety. As long as you have approx 20 cupcakes you should be able to cover a ball this size. Marshmallows are optional.

Once your cakes are baked, and cooled down you have some options. You can either stick them to the foam ball now, and decorate later, OR decorate now and stab them on later. It depends on how you’re doing it I think. If I was using a piping bag, I’d stick the cakes down first. For something like this, it doesn’t matter too much. But after attempting this, I think it is easier to get them on the foam ball first, then decorate.

DSCN3355

To make the marshmallow flowers, you’ll need two marshmallows for one flower. Cut them in half like you see in the photo above. As you cut them, it pinches the marshmallow and turns it from a round shape to a slightly pointed almond shape – perfect for petals. They’re easy to place down on the icing of the cupcakes, as it acts as an adhesive. Be warned thought, the marshmallows become VERY sticky once cut in half. To save yourself some grief place them on the cupcake sticky side down so they powdery side is facing up.

Another option is to dip them in coloured sugar which is super cute.

DSCN3357

To stick them to the foam ball, I used two toothpicks per cupcake, like the picture above. For some that were lower down, I used three, and tried to angle them up so they wouldn’t slide off.  Its fairly easy to pierce the foam ball, but perhaps having a sewing thimble on hand might be of some assistance.

DSCN3358

Simply push the cupcake onto the toothpicks. You’ll be surprised at how well they stay there.  A good trick to make sure the foam ball doesn’t wiggle around is to adhere it with sticky tape on the inside to the flower pot. Another idea is to put some weights in the bottom – rocks might work – so it doesn’t slide around, mine took a little tumble as I was pressing one of the cupcakes on, now its covered in crumbs, but this is just a test run so thats ok.

Its also best to tie the ribbon around the pot before you start placing the cupcakes. It would be mighty difficult to tie it up once it was so top heavy and round.

DSCN3356

Progress shot. Mother’s Day Marshmallow Massacre – we will rebuild.

There isn’t really any rhyme or reason to placing the cupcakes. It depends on size and what room you have. I’m trying to think of something to fill the white space with. Green tissue paper – or napkins to simulate leaves? Or perhaps I’ll pipe some green frosting in between. If I had some green lolly pops (wrapped in green cellophane, at least) I’d try stabbing them through the ball. Something to cover the white space and give some foliage.

DSCN3360

Here’s the finished result of my cupcake bouquet test run. I’ll update my social media with pictures of the final result so if you’d like to see those, follow the links below and give my insta a good old stalk-a-roonie!

Pre Thoughts:

Have you ever used a sheet mask? I can’t wait! Let me know how you went!

Mothers Day Gift Guide #1

With Mothers Day just a week away, I’m here to share with you some ideas about how to spoil your mum! This will be the first of two gift guide posts. This post is more of a shopping guide while my next one will be more of a crafty / home made.

FLOWERS!

DSCN3335

Now I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love to receive flowers. I love the idea of sending flowers and if you’re in Adelaide, you should look into Itty Bitty Bunch a flower delivery service. It does however only operate Mon-Fri so keep that in mind. BUT rocking up to see your mum with a beautiful bunch of flowers is always a winner in my book.

SKIN CARE!

DSCN3339

The Body Shop is one of the first places I go to for a bit of at home pampering. After all, mums work a lot and deserve a little bit of a relaxation. Pick up some goodies in your mums favourite scent and let her have a night off. If you hurry, they have free express shipping on their website for orders over $50!

DSCN3336

Kismet Jardin is a brand that I found out about through the Bloggers United AU Adelaide Event (back in Feb) and I’ve been using it ever since. There is a large range of natural skincare they have on offer so you’ll be able to pick up something for your mum for sure! If you’re not sure on what to get her, try a universal product like the Hydra Gem! Its a serum/primer that used Hyaluronic Acid (great for hydration) It helps with elastin and collagen – perfect for mature skin. We were gifted this at the event and I’ve been using it on and off ever since! Its suitable for all skin types and goes great underneath your foundation! It smells earthy and sweet and is a little bit of South Australian luxury. The packaging is just gorgeous! I’ll have a full review on my blog of how I like to use it! Read till the end to get a discount code for 30% off! International shipping is available! ❤

BLING!

DSCN3338

Now jewellery can be a bit pricey, but if your mum is lucky enough to have a Pandora bracelet then it works out! Its kind of like the gift that keeps on giving. My brother, sister and I got our mum a bracelet a few years ago and always include a charm in our present to her. (we’re real big on the group gifts). Pandora have a Mothers Day collection out, but don’t feel like you have to indulge in it. Getting a charm that means something to you and your mum is always a great way to go!

SCENT

DSCN3337

Perfume is always a lovely gift to receive. Everyone has their own special scent that represents them. It could be a refill of a perfume they already have, or one that you think they’ll love. Its an intimate affair that will not go un noticed.

Look out for my next mothers day gift guide for some delicious and adorable home made options!

Discount Code: Like I said, I have a discount code for the Kismet Jardin Hydra Gem! Use code CAITHG30 when going through the checkout process for $$ off, pick up one for your mum and yourself, nothing cuter than matching skincare.. right? haha! I really hope you enjoy the product as much as I do. I’ll be doing an in-depth post soon!

Autumn Smokey Eye + Youtube?

So I’ve been really getting into Autumn makeup and dark colours and lately I’ve been rocking a dark brown smokey eye and paring it with a grey lip. Every time I wear this look I get compliments on it, so I’ve decided to post on it and also film a YouTube tutorial on it.

I’ve had youtube for a while, but took a break because life is busy and I’ve just not been very inspired to film anything, but with Autumn makeup filling my life with joy, I’ve been itching to record. So I’ll include this video for you. I’m not an MUA nor do I have a fancy studio, its just me so don’t get judgey.

I wore the look with one of my favourite lipsticks ever which is this gorgeous grey by Shanghai Suzy, its the shade called ‘Dove’. I never would have expected to like a grey lipstick but I find myself reaching for this all the time. This might be one of the first lipsticks I’ll use up in full!

12901375_1713097148902308_5410864088265851342_o

This was the first time I’d done my makeup like it. I was totally feeling it and felt flawless. Its amazing how makeup can enhance your mood and give you such a confidence boost.

I used my Stila – Eyes are the window – Soul palette to achieve this look. But once you see what shadows I’ve used you can swap them out for something else in your collection. Try using the Chi Chi Mattes Palette as an affordable alternative!

stila

Its really easy to get this look. If you watch the video you can see what I’m doing, but if you use this diagram as a reference you still know what to put and where!

I love dark smokey eyes for the cooler months and I have been experimenting a heap with different looks so I hope you’re excited for that coz I sure am!

Mask of the Month: BE Peel-Off Facial Mask Final Review

The lowdown:

  • Price: $5.99 Priceline
  • Target/Aim: ‘…to remove dead skin cells from the skin and unclog pores’
  • Skin Type: Doesn’t specify.
  • Smell: There isn’t really a smell, although it does kind of smell like glue. The scent is meant to be ‘pomegranate’ but I don’t smell it at all.
  • Texture: Thick, sticky, smooth. It reminds me of the hot wax when I get my brows done. Obviously, this product isn’t hot.
  • Colour: Bright Pink!
  • Directions: “Cleanse face with your favourite BE Cleanser, and dry in preparation for the mask. Apply a thin, even layer of the mask to yourface and neck, avoiding the delicate eye area, lips and hair. Leave the mask on to dry for around 15 minutes or until completely dry. Once dry gently peel away the mask from the face. Do not pull away quickly. Wash off any remaining pieces of the mask with warm water. Pat face and neck dry. Use once weekly or as required.”

New Information:

  • Application: I only put this in a strip across my chin and my nose – much like a pore strip. These are the ares that hurt the least. I also put about 2 – 3 layers on to make it thicker and easier to remove in one piece.
  • Dry Time: Anywhere from 5-15 minutes
  • 5 mins in: Skin didn’t feel as tight this time, I’m assuming because less product was on my face.
  • 10 mins in: Taking a bit longer to set because its thicker this time.
  • Just before removal: I notice that the sections are dry, but where my pores are there are little holes/gaps. This is annoying because it is at least twice as thick. How is it meant to clear pores if it isn’t covering them?
  • Removal process: Easy to remove. I pulled it quick across my chin. I saw a few pores get cleared out – success – even if its a small win.
Around my nose, I was a little more cautious. Especially with the skin under my eye, I pulled that slowly then quickly across the nose itself. Nothing happened though, because there were little holes in the areas of my pores there was nothing to cling to.
  • Instant results: A little redness, a few pores removed.
  • 10 mins after: No redness, skin looks the same.
  • Next morning: The pores that were clear are still clear but it only removed a few on my chin, nothing revolutionary. In order for this to work, I’d suggest making application even thicker.
  • Visible change: None.

What the packaging says:

“A refreshing Peel-Off Facial Mask which works to remove dead skin cells from the skin’s surface and unclog pores to reveal a freshand radiant complexion. Includes Pomegranate extract, known for its anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and for fighting free radicals in the skin, and Vitamin E for its soothing and smoothing effects.”

I look like I’m ready to go swimming.

You can see the little holes and gaps on the nose. The mask has nothing to grip to to rip out the clogged pores. The chin was satisfying to rip off, it removed only a few pores though.

Delicately peeled the strip up until this point, then ripped fast across the nose and then delicately again. You can see the redness across the cheeks though. Thats not blush. Its stain + irritation. I don’t think its worth going through this for such minimal results! You’re better off using an actual pore strip!

Pro Tips: Do not put this anywhere near hair lines. I am hesitant to use it again. I think this time I will only focus it in the centre of my face and not in any ‘peach fuzzy’ areas.

Final Words: I really don’t think you should bother with this mask. Even though it is cheap, it just doesn’t do anything. Or anything enough to warrant actually repurchasing it. I’m sure there are other masks out there, even around the same price point that will do better.

If you do have this mask, try using it as a pore strips. This is the only way I found that it could actually do anything, just make sure it is applied thick.

Have you got this mask and have had a good experience with it? I’d love to know.

Thank you so much for reading, and don’t forget:

Hair today gone tomorrow – getting the chop!

You may remember a few weeks ago, I posted about the possibility of chopping of all my hair. “Getting the chop?

Well, one lazy afternoon and a spur of the moment decision – along with a friend to hold my hand – had me walking into a salon. Thanks Lucy for being my chauffeur and convincing me that this is what I wanted. ❤

Before:

I was letting my friends know I was about to get the chop and tried telling them where I wanted it cut to. Or maybe I just wanted some last photos of my long locks. But lets be real, it needed to be cut anyway, after years of bleach and heat treatment my ends were literally fried.

The Inspiration:

In the previous post about me thinking about getting my hair cut, I toyed with the idea of one of these super ‘on trend’ long bobs. I basically needed that much cut off anyway for my hair to be healthy again, and had somewhat decided to get rid of all the blonde anyway, so why not? As soon as I saw these images of Melissa McCarthy I knew this is what I wanted. I was worried that a short cut like this would show off features of my face that I’m not quite comfortable with. I used my long hair to hide being. But seeing these images made me want this hair so bad! I took this image into the salon and asked for it to be a little bit longer, it turned out a little bit shorter but oh well, hair grows.

The Length:

I went in with hair approx 22″ and came out with a somewhat A-Symetrical bob. Longer in the front and shorter in the back – only by an inch or two. My hair is now 10/11″ at the back and 12″ in the front. I’ve had my hair cut like this before, so its not new to me.

None of my friends have seen me with short hair, the last time I got it this short was in the early years of high school, I was a little nervous. I’ve also not been all one colour for a while. I love my natural colour which is why I’ve never died the roots. I’m happy to be a full brunette again and to have healthy hair. However, I am a little sad to no longer be ‘the girl with the long hair’. It sounds silly but I got a lot of compliments on my hair from friends, and even strangers. It felt nice. But, it will grow back so – I’m ok with this.

The Process:
I walked into the salon and didn’t have to wait at all as it was the end of the day and a lot of free chairs. I sat down and explained what I want and the stylist quickly went to work. I was getting a lot of attention from the other staff who were working. A lot of ‘oooh-ing and aahh-ing’ was happening. It was all positive and they only had nice words to say, but I felt a little bit like a gold fish being stared at.

After:

Image one is just after it was cut. Lucy and I went to pick up a celebratory bottle of wine, plus I think I might have been in shock a little bit – it sounds silly.

Image two is once I’d washed, blowdried and lightly straightened my hair. Its so soft and strong now. I’m so happy with it.

Image three is today. The expression is weird because public transport selfies are hard. I threw in some loose curls to add texture without it being puffy. I have noticed that I will have to change little things about how I do my makeup because my hair isn’t there to hide anything and also having my face more open has given me ideas for more makeup looks. Something to go with my all brown hair. I’m excited to experiment!

Before and After:

I really am happy with the result, even though it is shorter than expected. But I don’t mind, I’m so blasé about it and I know hair grows back so I’ll just have to deal with it being a little bit shorter for a while. I’m excited to style it and find new things that I can do with these newly chopped locks! Be on the look out for some hair style posts coming up!

Have you ever made the change? Traded in your long locks for a bouncy bob? I’d love to know what products you use for styling or any tips on how I can style my new hair!

Thank you so much for reading, and don’t forget:

Mask of the Month: BE Peel-Off Facial Mask Week 2 Review

Time for week two! I’ve had the worst cold this week and honestly didn’t feel like putting anything on my face, but I’m trying to be dedicated with these posts. I used the same mask again this week, even though I had a less than enjoyable experience last week, but I’m determined to try and get this to work!

  • Application: I used my fingers to apply this, I think it is far too sticky to be used by a brush. Perhaps a small popsicle stick applicator would be better here. I applied the mask in a different area this week as last week was so painful to remove. I aimed for cheeks and forehead and across the T-zone. Keeping away from any peach fuzz baby hair areas.
  • Dry Time: Anywhere from 5-15 minutes
  • 5 mins in: As mask begins to set my skin feels tight, no irritation.
  • 10 mins in: Almost fully set, still no irritation.
  • Just before removal: When the mask is fully dry/set it looks shiney and kind of feels like wrinkly skin.
  • Removal process: I didn’t have the agonising experience as last week, however it still hurt a little in the top corners of the mask where the edges met my skin. The chin and nose area didn’t hurt much, because I’m used to doing pore strips/the skin is a little more resilient in those areas.
  • Instant results: There was still some redness, around my eyebrow area.
  • 10 mins after: No real lingering redness like last week. No irritation.
  • Next morning: My skin felt soft-ish, nothing to write home about. The only reason I feel like it does anything is because it basically rips your dead skin off. I can achieve that kind of result from exfoliating – and there is way less pain in that.
  • Visible change: Slightly fresher looking skin.

1

This week I left more space around the edge of my hairline and I didn’t join the mask all the way up. The areas I left free are the ones that hurt the most last week and I wasn’t doing that to myself again. This week it was still a little painful to remove.

2

Starting the removal process from the ‘inside – out’ works better I think. I begin to flick the edges around my mouth and nose first and peel the mask away.

3

The mask itself is quite heavy duty. It takes a lot for it to actually rip. So taking it off can be in one whole piece or two. It makes cleaning up easier. However the little parts that stay stuck on your face are annoying to remove, you can either peel them off or wash them off with warm water. Putting warm water on your face after this mask is a little uncomfortable so peeling would work better, but they’re kind of hard to get off so your either giving yourself more pain or waiting around with pink on your face.

Because the mask is so sturdy, next week I will be using it as a pore strip and see how that goes.

Pro Tips: Do not put this anywhere near hair lines. I am hesitant to use it again. I think this time I will only focus it in the centre of my face and not in any ‘peach fuzzy’ areas.

Do you have this mask? Do you know how to make it work? I’d love to hear your experiences.
